Cypress Highlights Its USB 2.0 Solutions at COMDEX Fall 2001

COMDEX®, Booth No. L1631-17USB Las Vegas Convention Center Las Vegas, Nevada, November 12-16, 2001

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 31, 2001-- Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE:CY - news) today announced that it will exhibit at the 2001 Fall COMDEX® show, to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 12 through November 16, 2001. Cypress will be in the USB Pavilion, booth No. L1631-17USB on level one of the North Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

The company will feature live demonstrations of its USB solutions:

  • The SL811HS USB host/peripheral controller represents USB On-the-Go (OTG). This is Cypress's first-to-market embedded host/peripheral controller which offers a dual-port defined as a single port that functions as either host or peripheral. This port is now an important element of USB OTG.
  • Cypress's EZ-USB FX2(TM) is the world's first USB 2.0 integrated peripheral controller. It includes an 8051 processor, a serial interface engine (SIE), a USB transceiver, on-chip RAM and FIFO, and a general programmable interface. The FX2 is a fully-integrated solution, requiring little board space and providing fast time-to-market. This device is the first high-speed USB microcontroller to successfully pass the compliance tests set by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), allowing Cypress to use the official USB 2.0 logo.
  • Cypress's EZ-USB SX2(TM) intelligent serial interface engine (SIE) provides a 480-Mbps USB 2.0 connection to a peripheral containing a microcontroller. It is the only low-cost solution that does not drain the controller's resources. The "intelligent" SIE makes it easy to add high-speed USB to many peripheral applications, including scanners, printers, networking devices, and digital video cameras.
